H. L. Stokes
Alfred H.L. Stokes entertains many interests including pioneering sounds with his mouth, metaphysical contemplations of death (la beatitude contemplative) and composing overly elaborate schemes to his social endeavours. He lists miss-handled books and ill managed heating systems as some of his major turn-offs.

- Claude François and the 'Clodettes'.
12 July 2009
This one is for Two Shoes. Following a conversation on french music, here is Claude François and his troop, the Clodettes. Now a 'national treasure' and icon for anyone over 50, this man symbolizes the epitome of 70s french disco. Although anonymous outside of the Hexagone's borders, this man had it all. The hair, the girls, the singles even down to his beautifully tragic death at the age of 39, when he managed to electrocute himself in his bathtub with his hairdryer (this remains controversial).
It is therefore with diffident pleasure that I pass on this french musical 'gem'. Claude Francois - Alexandrie Alexandra - Oraison

A performance to be seen, this is Richard Lainhart's interpretation of Oraison composed by Olivier Messiaen in 1937 for six Ondes Martenot. The instrument he is playing is a Buchla 200e, a modular synthesizer, developed in the late 70's.
I started getting interested in these instruments two years ago when I was obsessed with Radiohead and have now moved on to owning something similar. These instruments are seldom recognized yet they are audible in most of the music we hear today, mostly emulated through computer programs. To a greater extent I guess I wanted to illustrate how these are the unsung heroes of the musical world. They can produce the softest of recordings to the harshest of sounds yet most people have no clue what they are. - Tales of Mere Existence

Lev Yilmaz makes these small cartoon videos. Each video covers an aspect of your life, and each gets it right. It's a bit like when you learned about psychoanalysis the first time and although everybody told you it was silly, it made much more sense in your mind than you wanted it to. I recommend checking out his channel.
