Quote from "Corporation"

Corporation

The documentary “Corporation” can not be recommended too strongly. Please watch it. Tell your parents to watch it. Ask your children to watch it. Snuggle and kissle your loved one on the couch and eat popcorn. Then get off the couch. And do something. Anything. Quote unquote.

at the climax of the struggle - the army stayed in their - barracks - the police also remained in their stations - the members of congress became invisible - the government went into hiding - and afterwards he resigned - there wasn’t any authority left - the only legitimate authority - was the people gathered - at the city square making - decisions in large assemblies - and, at the end, they made the decisions about the water - i think people - all of us - young and old - were able to taste - to quench our thirst for democracy

one should never underestimate the power of the people

the people united will never be defeated!

Oscar Olivera speaking on the people’s defeat of a corporation trying to privatise drinking water (including water independently obtained from rainfall) at an estimated cost of one quarter of the average wage in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

6 people were killed and 175 people injured in the conflict.

More of the same…

they (the corporations that finance my films and television shows) believe when people watch my stuff… you know…

“they’ll watch this and they won’t do anything”

because

“we’ve done such a good job of numbing their minds and dumbing them down… people aren’t gonna… leave the cinema or get up of the couch and do anything about it”

i’m convinced of the opposite… a few people are gonna leave this cinema or get up off the couch and do something - anything - to get this world back in our hands.

Michael Moore.
