You are in the library, sucking a grolly pop.
Kenn?t bursts in and drags you out by the neck and says:
The community is all at war here and he’s right:

There’s your gran and your grandy and your da
Slicing into your neighbours with garden spades.

Let’s run out onto the verge. Lift me over bodies.
The council roll onto the crowd knuckled in a war tank.
Policemen cry into their dead radios for help.
and Kenn?t puts his hand on your grave cheek and
says: Lucky look: they’ve done the library.
You can smell the burning plastic. That was close:
Kenn?t smiles in satisfaction at your life he saves.
And! Over this chaos the leader beats his chest and sings:
Slip into your gender groups! Minoritize! Racial divide!

Kenn?t’s gone with the males.
More orders roar more calmer for order.
Now the groups look neat alike: White, black,
Black, white.
It’s a game for us to play while we’re ordering the chaos.
